Curricular Studies and Perspectives (CSP) adopts an open access policy, supporting the principle of easy access to information and endorsing the concept of open access for peer-reviewed journals as stated in the Budapest Open Access Initiative signed on September 12, 2012. The access policies accepted by the CSP editorial board can be found at http://www.budapestopenaccessinitiative.org/boai-10-recommendations.
The Budapest Open Access Initiative defines the concept of "open access" as follows:
"[Peer-reviewed research articles'] open access, which we call 'gold' open access, means immediate, free availability on the public internet, permitting any users to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of these articles, crawl them for indexing, pass them as data to software, or use them for any other lawful purpose, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than those inseparable from gaining access to the internet itself. The only constraint on reproduction and distribution and the only role for copyright in this domain should be to give authors control over the integrity of their work and the right to be properly acknowledged and cited."
Open access policies hold great potential for researchers and readers in terms of disseminating scientific advancements and promoting knowledge sharing. With this perspective, CSP invites its readers to freely access and use published works while ensuring proper attribution to the original sources and authors. Readers are not required to seek permission from authors or publishers.
Creative Commons
A Creative Commons license means that copyrighted materials can be freely accessed and used by others. Authors who wish to share their work may use a CC license, which allows for adaptation and modification of the content.
All articles published by CSP are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY). This license grants everyone the right to use a scientific work, provided that proper attribution is given, while allowing the content to be used, shared, and adapted for non-commercial purposes.
Open access is an approach that fosters interdisciplinary communication and encourages collaboration across different academic fields. Therefore, CSP contributes to the advancement of curricular studies and education research by ensuring greater accessibility to its articles and maintaining a transparent peer-review process.
CSP's publication practices strictly adhere to the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the National Information Standards Organization (NISO), the Council of Science Editors (CSE), and the European Association of Science Editors (EASE).
